Our Sanstha, Raghuvanshi Foundation aims to ensure that none of the community members are deprived of the utmost basic necessity for the living i. e. `Anna' the food. Annavitaran – an RF Cares initiative began during the tough times of Covid pandemic and lockdown when it had become extremely difficult for the families with limited or no resources to procure daily meals for the family members.
It was during these testing times that Team RF, under the able leadership of its visionary Founder, Sri Kishor Dattani, backed by the voluntary contributions of its generous Founders / Donors, Sri Vallabhdas V. Dattani, c/o Dattani Foundation and Sri Dilip Kumar Atha, c/o Atha Foundation - decided to extend to these deprived families the much needed relief by providing them with basic grocery items kit since the year 2021.
This noble initiative has been admired by one and all and presently, 2 (two) more Donors, namely, Sri Lalit Kumar Natverlal Kataria, c/o Suman Jewellery (Delhi) and Sri Ajit Manilal Kataria c/o Smt. Nirmala Manilal Kataria Charitable Trust have come forward to voluntarily extend their contribution to this noble cause beginning from the year 2023 and onwards. Initially, around 165+ needy Gujarat families were identified and contacted and this is how the Sanstha began to provide Anna Samagri Prasad Kit containing over 30+ grocery items mostly used by the households and these 165+ families located in and around Kolkata, Howrah and Liluah started to collect the grocery Kits from the Karyalay located in Bhowanipore.
During the lockdown period, with restrictions imposed on public transport and movement of people, the Sanstha even made arrangements to deliver the grocery Kits to the families door step. This distribution of Anna Samagri Prasad Kit is being made since 2021 all throughout the year on the festive occasions of Ramnavami, Ganga Dusshera, Adhik ,Purshottam Maas,Rath Yatra, Janmashtami, Vijaya Dashami, Gita Jayanti, Makkar Sankranti and Shiv Ratri.
The day of the distribution begins with Deep Pragatya in presence of the available Founders, Invitees and Team RF members followed by Puja-archana in accordance to the respective occasion / festival being performed at the Karyalay by chanting stotras – shlokas - mantras and offering prayers and all items of the Anna Samagri Kit are being offered as Bhog and then these Kits are being distributed to the needy families in the form of `Prasad'.
As of now, there are over 165+ beneficiary families located in various parts of Kolkata, Howrah and Liluah who are collecting these Anna Samagri Prasad Kits regularly from Sanstha's Karyalay and for the sake of convenience of the families residing in Liluah, even now these Kits are being delivered to a particular location in Liluah for distribution.
